These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your participation in FBC Athletics LLC ("FBC") programs, including AAU, Travel, and Developmental basketball. By submitting a registration form or participating in any FBC program, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and your athlete.
1. Program Enrollment
- AAU Program: Enrollment is subject to tryout evaluation and roster selection at FBC's sole discretion. Pre-registration does not guarantee placement on an AAU roster.
- Travel Program: Open enrollment with team placement based on age and ability. Subject to roster availability.
- Developmental Program: Open enrollment for players building their skills. Subject to roster availability.
- FBC reserves the right to place athletes on the most appropriate team based on evaluation and roster needs.
2. Fees and Payment
- Program fees are due upon registration confirmation and team assignment
- Fees vary by program: AAU ($2,400), Travel ($1,250–$1,850), Developmental ($1,200)
- Payments are processed securely through Stripe
- Refund Policy: Fees are non-refundable after the season begins. Requests for refunds prior to the season start will be considered on a case-by-case basis at FBC's discretion
- Tournament entry fees, travel fees, uniform costs, and league entry fees are separate from registration fees unless explicitly stated otherwise
- Fee waivers, if granted, apply only to the specific season and terms stated in writing
3. Code of Conduct
All participants, parents, and guardians are expected to:
- Treat coaches, players, officials, and other families with respect at all times
- Support a positive, inclusive team environment
- Follow the direction of FBC coaches and staff during practices, games, and events
- Refrain from verbal abuse, harassment, or physical altercations
- Comply with all venue rules and regulations
FBC reserves the right to suspend or remove any participant or family from the program for conduct that is deemed disruptive, disrespectful, or harmful to the team environment. No refund will be issued for removal due to conduct violations.
4. Attendance and Commitment
- Regular attendance at practices and games is expected and essential for team success
- Parents/guardians should notify the coach in advance of any planned absences
- Excessive unexcused absences may result in reduced playing time or removal from the roster
- AAU players commit to a year-round schedule (September–August); Travel and Developmental players commit to the core season (September–March)
5. Medical and Health
- Participants must be in good physical health to participate in FBC programs
- FBC is not responsible for injuries sustained during practice, games, or related activities
- Parents/guardians are responsible for maintaining adequate health insurance for their athlete
- Any known medical conditions, allergies, or physical limitations must be disclosed to FBC staff at the time of registration
- FBC staff may administer basic first aid in the event of injury. In serious cases, emergency services will be contacted
6. Media Release
By registering, you grant FBC Athletics LLC a non-exclusive license to use photographs, videos, and likeness of your athlete taken during FBC events for promotional purposes including social media, website, and marketing materials. To opt out of media use, notify FBC in writing at the time of registration.
7. SMS Communications
- By providing a mobile phone number, you consent to receive SMS messages from FBC Athletics regarding program activities
- Message and data rates may apply
- Reply STOP at any time to opt out of SMS communications
- Reply HELP for assistance
- Message frequency varies — typically 2–8 messages per month
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FBC Athletics LLC, its owners, coaches, and staff shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in FBC programs, including but not limited to injuries, property damage, or loss. FBC's total liability shall not exceed the registration fees paid for the current season.
9. Assumption of Risk
Basketball is a physical sport that carries inherent risks of injury. By registering, you acknowledge these risks and voluntarily consent to your athlete's participation. You release FBC Athletics LLC and its staff from liability for injuries sustained during normal program activities.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland. Any disputes arising from participation in FBC programs shall be resolved in the courts of Maryland.
11. Changes to These Terms
FBC reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated to registered families via email or SMS. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
